Data Analyst, GIS, Mapping and Analytics (GIS)

Location: Hybrid schedule in Berlin, Connecticut; travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire may be required. Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal hours and location.

Salary: $88,630–$98,480 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Define spatial data needs, clarify analytical objectives, and support the design of data collection tools and reports.
• Analyze spatial and non-spatial data and prepare documents, reports, GIS dashboards, maps, and analytical models.
• Integrate and consolidate data from GIS, work management, network management, community, environmental, and capacity sources.
• Use FME, SQL, Python, REST, and related software to support complex data analysis.
• Maintain data quality and provide reporting on GIS and electric distribution and transmission metrics.
• Communicate technical issues to non-technical GIS users and support emergency restoration efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Three or more years of experience with ESRI and spatial and relational data analysis in the electrical utility industry.
• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Desktop, ModelBuilder, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Insights, Portal, StoryMaps, Power BI, or equivalent mapping solutions.
• Strong knowledge of FME, SQL, Python, and REST.
• Experience with data management, analytical modeling, statistics, and mobile or spatial technologies such as remote sensing and GPS.
• Must be available for emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA, CT, and NH as necessary.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• GIS Professional (GISP) certification.
