Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 107,000–157,300 annual base salary for Canada-based roles; offers may vary based on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software components for the hirify.global Assistant backend platform.
• Build scalable REST APIs, backend services, and a plugin architecture for AI assistants and services.
• Develop secure, reliable, highly available, and maintainable distributed systems.
• Write unit-tested code using test-driven development and participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, developers, DevOps, support, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Mentor team members, estimate development effort, and recommend tools and processes that improve quality and productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience building scalable, customer-facing web applications and distributed systems.
• 2+ years of experience developing applications with Python and Java-based web frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Jasmine, Cucumber, or similar tools.
• Experience deploying applications on AWS or other cloud platforms and working with backend data stores such as DynamoDB or Aurora.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with JSON and XML.

Nice to have

• Experience designing highly scalable and highly available distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go and strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with full-stack development, modern software architecture, AI-powered applications, LLM integrations, or agent-based systems.
