Senior/Lead Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within Canada; applicants are accepted only from Québec, Ontario, and British Columbia. Occasional travel to customer sites, up to 25%.

Salary: CAD 150,000–220,000 annually, depending on experience and location.

What you will do

• Lead customer engagements by aligning business objectives, engineering priorities, and technology opportunities.
• Run technical discovery, workshops, solution design sessions, and roadmap planning with executive, product, engineering, security, and business stakeholders.
• Design and implement scalable software systems integrating applications, APIs, databases, enterprise platforms, identity providers, and security controls.
• Use AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to accelerate planning, coding, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Build data integrations and pipelines, observability and monitoring frameworks, and reliable integration layers across complex cloud environments.
• Mentor customer and internal engineering teams, troubleshoot production issues, document solutions, and enable handoff and long-term ownership.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with experience delivering production-grade applications and platforms.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, agentic workflows, and AI-native engineering practices.
• Architecture and systems integration experience across APIs, databases, enterprise systems, structured and unstructured data, and cloud environments.
• Experience deploying cloud resources with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent English is required; applicants must be based in Québec, Ontario, or British Columbia and able to travel to customer sites up to 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Advanced agentic AI systems, multi-agent architectures, tool orchestration, planning frameworks, and MCP servers.
• Operational excellence for large-scale AI platforms, including observability, tracing, performance, cost management, and LLM monitoring.
• Experience with secure governance, compliance, data sovereignty, regulated infrastructure, and human-centered AI design.
• Master’s degree or PhD and recognized cloud or AI platform certifications.
