Software Engineer (AI Automation)

Location: Remote from Canada

Salary: CAD 115,600–144,540/year for other Canadian locations; CAD 128,500–160,600/year in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.

What you will do

• Turn business processes, judgment, and edge cases into reusable skills that AI agents can invoke.
• Connect agents to systems of record through MCP servers and expand the agent architecture when required.
• Define evaluation criteria with business teams, build eval sets, establish baselines, and use results to guide releases.
• Deploy and support agents in production, including permissions, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, audit trails, rollback, documentation, and operational ownership.
• Partner with data engineers on data access, models, quality, and requirements for agent workflows.
• Work directly with internal hirify.global teams to map their processes and convert them into reliable automated workflows.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Substantial experience shipping LLM-backed applications using prompting, tool use, agentic loops, and multi-step workflows.
• Experience shipping at least one AI agent used by non-engineers.
• Practical experience with MCP, skill or tool authoring, agent orchestration, and evaluation sets.
• Strong Python skills, comfort with SQL and production data models, and fluency with agentic coding tools such as Cursor.
• Experience with Git, CI, containers, production deployments, business process discovery, and working through ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Experience building or maintaining MCP servers.
• Solutions engineering, professional services, internal tools, or startup founding experience.
• Experience with Linear, Jira, Zendesk, Salesforce, or Snowflake.
• Experience in insurance, fintech, or another regulated domain.
