Senior IT Application Specialist (AI)

Location: Flexible hybrid work model based in Oakville, Toronto, or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Office attendance is supported, while virtual work requires a reliable internet connection with at least 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

Salary: $104,400–$135,700 CAD annual base salary.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise applications, from roadmap definition and architecture through deployment, health management, upgrades, and continuous improvement.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI to write, review, and orchestrate production-grade code.
• Build and deploy workflow automations with LLM APIs, GCP Cloud Functions, AWS Lambda, n8n, and related orchestration frameworks.
• Design AI agent skills, tool integrations, autonomous workflows, and production-grade governance models.
• Deploy AIOps monitoring for predictive detection, anomaly identification, and AI-driven incident response while leading performance tuning and health-monitoring automation.
• Lead architectural reviews and high-stakes incident response, advise management on AI adoption, and mentor IT Applications Specialists.

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience in AI and automation.
• 5–8 years of experience supporting technical, functional, and system aspects of IT applications in cloud and enterprise environments.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI-powered automation in production; a portfolio, projects, or practical assessment is required.
• Advanced proficiency with AI coding tools and strong programming and scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
• Expert-level Linux administration; advanced knowledge of SSO methodologies including SAML and LDAPS, and Zero Trust Architecture.
• Experience with Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Docker, infrastructure automation, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk; availability for a 24×7 rotating on-call schedule.
