Senior Data Engineer (Blockchain)

Location: Remote within North America; San Francisco, CA

Salary: $190,000–$220,000 USD base salary per year, plus potential equity participation.

What you will do

• Build highly scalable data features integrating with dozens of blockchains.
• Design and architect data models for efficient storage, retrieval, and sub-second blockchain data queries.
• Develop mission-critical data services, pipelines, platforms, and ML or BI workflows from the ground up.
• Collaborate with data scientists, backend engineers, product managers, and customer-facing teams to translate user needs into scalable solutions.
• Deploy and monitor cloud infrastructure and streaming workflows while balancing performance, scale, and cost.
• Document technical decisions, communicate tradeoffs, mentor engineers or analysts, and improve cross-team delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience architecting scalable APIs and distributed systems from ideation through production.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
• Advanced programming skills in Python and proficiency with SQL or SparkSQL.
• Experience with BigQuery, Postgres, Airflow, DBT, Dataflow, Spark, Kafka, and Flink.
• Experience with Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, Datadog, public cloud infrastructure, and large-scale data transformation.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly, simplify complexity, mentor others, and deliver systems efficiently.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs or AI-powered workflows, including prompt engineering, internal tooling, or semantic search.
