Program Coordinator, National Programs

Location: Remote/Virtual within the continental US; periodic out-of-town overnight travel several times per year is required for staff offsites, planning retreats, and company-wide events.

Salary: $45,000–$57,000 per year

What you will do

• Support the day-to-day administration and operations of the Military Families Outdoors program and Blue Star Connect Outdoors events.
• Assist with event promotion, planning, registration, attendance tracking, metrics, and calendar management.
• Support recruitment and selection of military families for nature-based overnight trips in partnership with external organizations.
• Maintain communications activities, including social media calendars, event photos, and the Blue Star Neighborhood community group.
• Use project management, CRM, collaboration, and communications tools to administer projects and coordinate internal and external partners.
• Build relationships across the organization and with partner organizations to support strategic goals and opportunities for collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience and 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with project management systems or the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Knowledge of program development, management, evaluation, and reporting.
• Experience managing volunteers, working with nonprofit partners, and supporting military families.
• Strong technology skills, including Salesforce, Google Docs, Hive, and web or conference calls.
• Ability to work remotely within the continental US and travel overnight several times per year; occasional nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with CRM systems and familiarity with Salesforce.
• Experience in outdoor recreation.
• Ability to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and foster teamwork.
