AI Transformation Portfolio Manager Director

Location: Boston, MA, United States. Hybrid work is available remotely up to two days per week, or the role may be performed on-site five days per week.

Salary: $185,600–$278,400 base salary per year, plus annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Lead portfolio management for AI-driven workforce transformation initiatives across data, technology, and business functions.
• Maintain portfolio roadmaps, prioritization frameworks, resource plans, investment plans, and delivery timelines.
• Establish governance processes and prepare portfolio reviews, executive presentations, status updates, and decision materials.
• Manage portfolio financials, including budgets, forecasts, accruals, investment tracking, value realization, and cost-to-complete visibility.
• Lead, coach, and support project and program managers while coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, vendors, and implementation partners.
• Embed responsible AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and AI lifecycle oversight into portfolio planning and execution.

Requirements

• Advanced degree with strong biotechnology experience in an information technology setting.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in project, program, or portfolio management.
• Experience managing complex information technology projects, cross-functional teams, budgets, forecasts, investments, and delivery risks.
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Familiarity with responsible AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, enterprise governance, AI lifecycle management, and enterprise data platforms.
• Must work in the Boston, MA area under the hybrid or on-site work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with workflow orchestration, enterprise system integration, governed data foundations, semantic layers, natural language analytics, live data, agentic solutions, and enterprise AI platforms.
• Experience with wave-based prioritization and sprint-based implementation.
• Experience with regulatory, quality, health authority, country-specific, structured data exchange, or GxP validation requirements.
• Experience managing vendor evaluations, vendor risks, implementation dependencies, and partner-enabled technology initiatives.
