Associate Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support money movement applications.
• Build software with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, event-driven architectures, databases, and CI/CD practices.
• Participate in code reviews, collaborative problem solving, and software design activities.
• Explore and apply AI-assisted development tools for learning, development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Apply observability, monitoring, automated testing, and production support practices.
• Learn from production issues to improve software quality, resiliency, and supportability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another technical field, or equivalent work experience.
• 0–2 years of application engineering experience.
• Foundational understanding of at least one programming language, software development, databases, and software design.
• Knowledge of version control and software development lifecycle concepts.
• Curiosity, initiative, persistence, collaborative problem-solving skills, and willingness to seek and apply feedback.
• Ability to understand, evaluate, and validate AI-generated solutions rather than relying on them without understanding.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, event-driven architectures, cloud technologies, or CI/CD.
• Experience experimenting with AI and AI-assisted development tools.
• Personal projects, internships, coursework, open-source contributions, or other examples of continued technical learning.
