TL;DR
Junior Structural Engineer (Heavy Industrial) (Structural Engineering): Preparing structural calculations, reports, drawings, and 3D models for complex heavy industrial facilities with an accent on steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems. Location: Hybrid role in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 60,000–80,000 annually, depending on experience

What you will do

  • Prepare structural calculations, reports, drawings, and 3D models.
  • Support the design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems.
  • Use RISA, SAP2000, Revit, Bluebeam, and similar engineering and drafting software.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary project teams on projects across Canada and the United States.
  • Participate in quality assurance, quality control, documentation, scheduling, and project execution activities.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders and support site visits and field investigations when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of relevant engineering experience; heavy industrial experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of or interest in developing expertise in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
  • Exposure to structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000 or RISA.
  • Familiarity with North American building codes and structural design standards, or willingness to learn.
  • Eligibility for registration or registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada and good standing with the applicable regulatory body where applicable.

Nice to have

  • Experience with reinforced or post-tensioned concrete, reinforced masonry, structural steel, composite steel, foundation, shear wall, braced frame, or moment-resisting frame systems.
  • Previous experience in mining, cement, lime, or pulp and paper projects.
