Mechanical Designer (Mining)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, with potential work in other hirify.global offices and at project sites, including remote sites. Travel may be required.

Salary: CAD 62,000–65,000 per year, plus potential performance-based incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical equipment, facilities, and processes.
• Apply mechanical design principles to equipment, piping systems, industrial components, and facility layouts.
• Collaborate with senior discipline members and other hirify.global groups to deliver project work.
• Perform field verification and provide support during construction.
• Complete office and site safety training and work at project sites or other hirify.global offices as required.

Requirements

• Working toward graduation in 2027 or recently graduated with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a similar program.
• Good understanding of mechanical equipment and systems design principles.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently and collaboratively, and adapt to change.
• Academic or work experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley MicroStation, OpenPlant, or Design Review CAD software is an asset.

Nice to have

• Previous co-op, summer work, or internship experience in mechanical or piping design.
• Experience with industrial facility layout development.
