Mechanical Designer/Drafter

Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, with work in the office and potential assignments at other offices and project sites, including remote sites.

Salary: CAD 61,000–64,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical equipment, industrial facilities, and processes.
• Apply mechanical design principles to general arrangement drawings and equipment layouts.
• Learn and use mechanical equipment, piping system design, industrial components, and discipline workflows.
• Collaborate with senior discipline members and other project groups to deliver design work.
• Perform field verification and provide support during construction.
• Complete office and site safety training and travel to other offices or project sites as required.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing graduation in 2027 or recently graduated from a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a similar program.
• Good understanding of mechanical equipment and systems design principles.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently and collaboratively, and adapt to change.
• Willingness and ability to travel and work at other hirify.global offices or project sites.
• Academic or work experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley MicroStation, OpenPlant, or Design Review is an asset.

Nice to have

• Previous co-op, summer work, or internship experience in mechanical or piping design.
• Experience with industrial facility layout development.
