TL;DR

What you will do

  • Support steady-state power-flow and short-circuit studies using PSS®E, TARA, and DSA Tools.
  • Assist with transmission interconnection and reactive-compensation studies for large loads and generation.
  • Build and maintain steady-state, dynamics, and short-circuit representations of the hirify.global transmission system.
  • Support NERC modeling data processes, including MOD-032 data collection, FAC-008 facility ratings, and model validation.
  • Gain exposure to transmission operations planning, outage coordination, and MISO and PJM submission systems.
  • Attend substation and facility site visits while collaborating with engineers, technicians, and regulatory experts.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • Coursework in power systems, circuits, or electric machines.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in Dayton, Ohio, United States, including participation in facility site visits.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to power-flow or short-circuit software such as PSS®E, TARA, ASPEN, CAPE, or DSA Tools.
  • Familiarity with the NERC, FERC, PJM, and MISO regulatory landscape.
  • Coursework or project experience in power system analysis.
