Salary: $86,000–$105,000 for Engineer; $98,993–$124,940 for Engineer Sr. The compensation range is $87,633–$128,688.

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and validate transmission system models for planning, operational, and reliability studies.
  • Use power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, ASPEN, TARA, or equivalent platforms.
  • Develop future project models covering load and generator changes, system upgrades, and retirements.
  • Update as-built system models as projects enter service.
  • Validate planning and compliance models, resolve data discrepancies, and identify outdated modeling practices.
  • Coordinate system data with operations, RTOs, and neighboring transmission organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or an engineering technology degree; a relevant master’s degree may qualify candidates for the Engineer level.
  • Engineer level: two or more years of related engineering experience, unless qualifying through a master’s degree.
  • Engineer Sr level: four or more years of related engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or two years with a master’s degree or PhD.
  • Knowledge of electric transmission planning principles and bulk power system operations.
  • Understanding of power flow, short-circuit, stability, and contingency analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with NERC reliability standards, MOD standards, and RTO modeling requirements.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer registration in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico.
