What you will do

  • Support engineering projects for the planning, operation, and modernization of electric transmission and distribution systems.
  • Develop solutions for collecting, storing, and using electrical asset data, and maintain power-system models in PSSE and CYME.
  • Create project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, business cases, and annual investment budgets with engineering and finance teams.
  • Apply management-of-change and asset-governance processes, support asset life-cycle plans, and participate in root cause analyses of significant equipment failures.
  • Study potential grid problems, propose solutions, and collaborate with technicians, engineers, regulatory experts, and business professionals.
  • Attend site visits to substations and engineering facilities to verify equipment and develop practical knowledge of transmission and distribution systems.

Requirements

  • Interest in electric-grid planning, transmission and distribution systems, and power infrastructure.
  • Ability to work with electrical asset data, power-system models, financial modeling tools, and project planning documentation.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and willingness to participate in root cause analysis and asset-management activities.
  • Ability to collaborate in an Agile environment with specialists across engineering, finance, operations, and regulatory functions.
  • Ability to work in Dayton, Ohio, United States and attend field visits to substations or other engineering sites.
