What you will do

  • Perform steady-state, short-circuit, dynamic stability, electromagnetic transient, and geomagnetic induced current studies.
  • Conduct transmission planning, resource interconnection, transmission service, and system impact studies for generation, storage, hybrid resources, microgrids, and aggregated distributed energy resources.
  • Evaluate inverter-based resources, grid-enhancing technologies, renewable integration, system strength, and bulk power system reliability.
  • Support NERC, FERC, WECC, and regional planning compliance, model validation, regulatory filings, and technical reporting.
  • Develop Python automation and digital workflows for PSSE, PSLF, TARA, TSAT, and PSCAD studies.
  • Present technical findings, participate in industry working groups, and mentor engineers, interns, and analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physics from an ABET-accredited curriculum or recognized equivalent.
  • Entry level: 0+ years of relevant experience; staff level: 2+ years; senior level: 5+ years with nationally recognized certification or 7+ years without certification.
  • Experience with power system transmission analysis tools such as PSSE, TARA, EMS, ASPEN, CAPE, PROMOD, PLEXOS, PowerWorld, or PSCAD, depending on level.
  • Knowledge of power systems studies, transmission planning, reliability analysis, and related engineering disciplines.
  • Must work in a hybrid schedule based in Denver, Colorado, with three office days per week.
  • EIT/FE certification is preferred or strongly preferred; PE registration and a graduate degree are preferred for senior-level candidates.
