Annual salary: $143,000–$286,000 in Sunnyvale; an additional Bellevue, Washington range of $132,000–$264,000 is also listed.

What you will do

• Lead applied scientists developing AI-driven solutions for retail, merchandising, supply chain, and store operations.
• Build and ship GenAI applications with agentic frameworks to automate merchant and operator workflows.
• Design and deploy models and agents that investigate anomalies and identify the causes behind business signals.
• Research and integrate techniques across LLMs, agents, retrieval, and classical machine learning.
• Mentor scientists and engineers, establish technical standards, and guide technical development.
• Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to define high-impact AI solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Applied Scientist or MLE experience, including shipping production ML models in high-scale environments.
• Strong foundations in supervised learning, deep learning, time series, causal analysis, and root-cause analysis.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, fine-tuning, evaluations, and agent orchestration.
• Production-grade Python, distributed systems, ML pipelines, CI/CD for ML, and model monitoring.
• Experience with large-scale data systems such as Spark and Hive and cloud platforms including GCP or Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, master’s degree with 3 years, or 7 years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with data science, optimization models, or a PhD in a related field.
• Publications or active peer review experience in relevant journals or conferences.
• Experience with Python, Spark, Scala, R, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or Torch.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
