Principal Software Architect (AI)

Location: Spring, Texas, United States of America. Relocation: Yes. Travel: 25%.

Salary: $165,450–$259,750 USD annually, with additional bonus and/or equity opportunities for US candidates.

What you will do

• Define end-to-end architecture for AI-enabled platforms spanning client applications, backend services, cloud workflows, devices, and enterprise integrations.
• Lead architecture for generative AI, LLMs, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, model orchestration, inference services, and edge AI.
• Design production-ready AI/ML systems with evaluation, experimentation, telemetry, monitoring, versioning, safety controls, and operational governance.
• Address security, privacy, compliance, performance, resiliency, manageability, diagnostics, and deployment requirements.
• Maintain hands-on involvement through prototyping, code and architecture reviews, technical investigations, and performance analysis.
• Guide senior engineers and technical leads while communicating architecture strategy, trade-offs, risks, and investment priorities to executives and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience and 5+ years in technical leadership, architecture, principal engineering, or an equivalent role.
• Experience designing complex end-to-end architectures across frontend, backend, desktop, cloud, APIs, data systems, devices, and enterprise integrations.
• Strong experience with AI/ML, LLMs, vision-language and speech models, edge inference, model optimization, and production deployment.
• Proficiency with technologies such as React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, C++, Rust, Python, C#, Node, Go, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or ONNX Runtime.
• Experience with distributed systems, API design, security, identity, CI/CD, automated testing, release engineering, and production support.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tauri, WebView, WebRTC, COM, PowerShell, or cross-platform desktop frameworks.
• Experience with Microsoft Graph, Intune, Azure, identity platforms, SSO, device management, or enterprise manageability solutions.
• Experience with connected devices, peripheral integration, device discovery, firmware-adjacent workflows, or hardware/software co-design.
• Experience building incubation products, proof-of-concept platforms, beta programs, or new product initiatives.
