The role supports Caterpillar hirify.global Control Technologies, a joint venture developing machine control, guidance, and positioning systems for heavy construction, earthmoving, and mining equipment.

What you will do

  • Design and implement electrical hardware for positioning and automation applications.
  • Own electrical hardware development from early prototypes through deployment on heavy equipment.
  • Collaborate with systems, controls, firmware, and software teams across design and production phases.
  • Perform circuit analysis, bench testing, debugging, and design validation; create verification and regulatory test plans.
  • Lead design development, manufacturing transition, technical reviews, schedules, and program updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, testing, and debugging.
  • Strong written and technical communication skills for specifications, test plans, and test reports.
  • Familiarity with C and C++ firmware development principles.
  • Experience with office productivity tools and exposure to PLM and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work in the Dayton, Ohio office.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with IMUs, accelerometers, and gyroscopes.
  • Experience designing functional safety products.
  • Experience with Matlab and SPICE/PSpice simulation tools.
