Director, Major Projects (New Generation)

Location: Louisa, Kentucky, United States; on-site during project execution and required to remain at the project location for its duration

Salary: $188,524–$245,080 per year, plus incentive compensation and benefits

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end execution of major generation projects with capital budgets ranging from $1B to $10B.
• Direct project safety, integrated scheduling, budget, contingency, forecasting, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Develop contracting and commercial strategies and oversee EPC, engineering, construction, consultant, and vendor agreements.
• Lead project teams, manage staffing, mentor project leaders, and report project performance and strategy to executive leadership.
• Build relationships with utilities, RTOs, regulators, landowners, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Manage construction delivery and regulatory filings, including environmental permits and approvals for new power generation facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of qualified experience across major construction projects, project management, commissioning, project controls, generation, portfolio management, or contract negotiations.
• PMP certification and a valid state driver’s license required.
• Progressive leadership experience, strong business acumen, and demonstrated ability to manage complex project teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work at offices, power plants, and construction sites, including light physical duties, site walkdowns, ladders, unstable surfaces, and potentially hazardous or nuclear environments.
• Work hours and travel are required as needed, and project execution requires on-site presence at the assigned project location.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in business, engineering, project management, accounting, finance, construction management, or a related field.
• Experience with utility and generation projects, heavy industrial construction, new-generation EPC models, interconnection agreements, and environmental permitting.
• Experience coordinating with PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, state utility commissions, federal agencies, USACE, USFWS, and NEPA processes.
• Prior experience as Project Manager Staff, Senior Project Manager Staff, or Director of Projects.
