Assistant Program Manager (Electric Utility): Leading planning, budgeting, stakeholder coordination, and performance tracking for multi-year electrical grid resiliency projects across the Gulf South with an accent on grid modernization, utility regulations, and cross-functional delivery. Focus on managing financials, coordinating engineering and construction teams, mitigating program risks, and ensuring safety, environmental, and quality compliance.

Location: New Orleans, LA; primarily office-based. Limited travel may be required based on project needs.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

  • Support the Senior Program Manager in planning and executing electrical grid resiliency projects.
  • Coordinate engineering, construction, procurement, regulatory compliance, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Manage relationships with utility partners and serve as a primary client contact.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, budgets, and risks while implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare status reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors while ensuring safety, environmental, quality, schedule, and cost requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of program or project management experience, preferably in the electric utility industry or a related field.
  • Knowledge of resiliency planning, grid modernization, utility regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Experience managing financials and large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent customer and executive relationship management skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Nice to have

  • Utility and contractor experience.
  • PMP certification.
