Traveling Project Director (Electrical Construction)

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States; on-site with 60–80% travel across multiple states

Salary: $155,000–$250,000 annually, plus a discretionary year-end bonus

What you will do

• Lead a business unit overseeing concurrent electrical construction projects and annual revenue of more than $25 million.
• Manage project safety, quality assurance, customer service, financial performance, schedules, and closeout activities.
• Direct Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and administrative staff across multiple states.
• Oversee contract management, claims, disputes, estimates, procurement, financial forecasting, and project risk reviews.
• Recruit, assign, mentor, evaluate, and develop project management personnel.
• Prepare business plans, communicate risks and results, and drive continuous improvement across the division.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in electrical construction or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree in Construction Engineering and Management or a related qualification.
• Experience supervising 60+ employees, including supervisors, non-supervisory staff, bargaining employees, and non-bargaining employees.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ViewPoint, Bluebeam, CONEST, and internet browsers.
• OSHA 30 certification, a valid driver’s license, and state electrical licensing.
• Ability to travel 60–80% of the time, including overnight travel as needed.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• A proven track record of at least 15 years of successful project results.
