TL;DR
Project Engineer I (Aerospace): Supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering aspects for next-generation airborne command-and-control aircraft projects with an accent on project schedules, technical process development, documentation, and cross-functional execution. Focus on managing engineering processes, identifying project risks, coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders, and supporting system integration in a defense and aviation environment.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; primarily office or hybrid, with occasional travel to customer or field locations

Salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay

What you will do

  • Support planning, coordination, and execution of engineering activities for product development projects.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, status reports, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Provide technical support and coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, customers, and field personnel.
  • Maintain project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, meeting minutes, and technical process documentation.
  • Analyze, define, develop, and standardize engineering processes and workflows across multiple stakeholders.
  • Support multidisciplinary design, development, testing, evaluation, and systems integration activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience, including 2–4 years leading technical personnel.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, requirements management, system design, integration, and technical process development.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary design and development teams and documenting technical processes and workflows.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for employment because of the active U.S. security clearance requirement.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MS Project, JIRA, project estimates, technical proposals, and cost and schedule management.
  • Experience with baseline definition, trade studies, alternatives analysis, technical drawings, schematics, and test procedures.
  • INCOSE experience or certification and a background in the aerospace and defense industry.
