TL;DR
Engineer V (Naval Systems): Leading end-to-end site activation and systems engineering for Navy combat system training sites with an accent on facility engineering, technical integration, and certified design reviews. Focus on coordinating NAVFAC and program stakeholders, managing master schedules, conducting physical site surveys, and resolving complex facility-to-system integration risks across projects in Dahlgren and San Diego.

Location: Dahlgren, Virginia, United States. Frequent travel of up to 40% to San Diego, California; Norfolk, Virginia; and Japan is required for physical site surveys and coordination meetings.

hirify.global provides engineering and technical support for Naval Systems Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division combat system training programs.

What you will do

  • Lead the complete site activation lifecycle from concept and design review through installation, technical integration, and operational activation.
  • Coordinate NAVFAC, PMS339 Facilities, PMS339 Combat Systems, technical developers, contractors, and local commands.
  • Conduct physical site surveys covering structural integrity, electrical loads, HVAC capacity, and network readiness.
  • Review facility engineering and structural design drawings and provide certified technical approval.
  • Manage action items, dependencies, deliverables, and master schedules for facility build-outs and combat system training suite deliveries.
  • Provide technical and programmatic oversight for the MWPTS SAWS San Diego and CIAT RCT5 ATRC Dahlgren projects, including schedule-risk reporting.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Current DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • Extensive experience coordinating complex DoD or Navy installations as an engineering coordinator, general contractor, or lead site integrator.
  • Experience facilitating communication across NAVFAC, program offices, civilian contractors, and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational, schedule-tracking, communication, and technical documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Teams, SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence.

Nice to have

  • Experience with NAVFAC, Navy facility standards, MILCON, or facility modernization projects.
  • Knowledge of CIAT and MWPTS trainer architectures and infrastructure requirements.
  • Active Professional Engineer license with authority to review and stamp facility and structural design drawings.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating schedule and facility integration risks.
