Treasury Accountant (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid role with a minimum of 3 onsite days per week at the Chancery Lane offices

What you will do

• Prepare treasury journals, funding transactions, interest accruals, settlements, and month-end accounting entries.
• Perform FX valuations, reconcile treasury positions to the general ledger, and maintain treasury balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare IFRS 9 hedge accounting entries and support derivative and interest rate swap valuations.
• Coordinate intercompany netting calculations, approvals, settlements, and reconciliations across legal entities.
• Support the implementation and configuration of the Treasury Management System, including accounting module testing.
• Improve treasury controls and reporting by documenting processes, automating manual activities, and resolving exceptions.

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
• At least 4 years of experience in practice, industry, or a combination of both.
• Strong treasury accounting experience covering FX transactions, derivatives, intercompany transactions, interest calculations, and month-end close.
• Practical knowledge of IFRS 9 hedge accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills, experience with financial systems, and strong analytical, reconciliation, and control capabilities.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders across international teams.

Nice to have

• Big 4 or leading accountancy firm training background.
• Treasury or group reporting experience.
• Treasury Management System experience, ideally Finastra or a similar platform.
• SAP or comparable ERP experience.
• Experience with finance system implementations, transformation projects, automation, or intercompany netting.
