Laboratory Technician I (Entry-Level/Non-Degree)

Location: North Kingstown, Rhode Island, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Full-time Monday–Friday, 1:30 pm–10:00 pm.

Salary: $18–$20 per hour, plus a 5% second-shift differential.

What you will do

• Retrieve samples from Sample Control and prepare them for analysis.
• Perform aliquoting, spiking and tracing, reagent preparation, concentration preparation, separation, sonication, and liquid rack setup.
• Learn and use the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
• Resolve sample labeling discrepancies and record results in paperwork, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
• Wash glassware, stock supplies, clean work areas, and support other laboratory areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; high school Chemistry coursework is preferred.
• Basic laboratory experience and production-oriented experience are helpful.
• Knowledge of chemistry or general science, basic mathematics, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production setting, multitask, learn quickly, and meet time constraints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including coolers packed with ice.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
