Sequencing R&D Technician (NGS)

Location: Louisville, KY, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed.

Salary: $22.00–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Process human, plant, seed, animal, bacterial, fungal, and probiotic samples for developmental research.
• Perform DNA and RNA extraction, quantification, gel electrophoresis, RT-PCR, TaqMan, and KASP assays.
• Prepare, run, and optimize wet-lab next-generation sequencing and tGBS library workflows.
• Conduct basic data analysis and communicate results, challenges, and updates to internal teams.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, equipment, labware, samples, and workspaces.
• Support sample receiving, labeling, storage, disposal, documentation, and routine equipment checks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in an industry laboratory, preferably with sequencing, library preparation, RT-PCR, and DNA/RNA extraction.
• Willingness to receive training in molecular biology techniques and R&D protocols.
• Accurate execution of written and verbal instructions, strong organization, and attention to detail in recordkeeping.
• Commitment to laboratory safety, quality standards, ISO documentation, and SOP compliance.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.
