Mold/Asbestos Analyst (PLM)

Location: Las Vegas, NV, USA; onsite laboratory work

Salary: $21–$26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates with at least one year of asbestos PLM and/or mold analysis experience.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze bulk asbestos samples using polarized light microscopy and non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi.
• Validate, review, and report analytical data through the LIMS.
• Perform independent reviews, reference material analyses, proficiency testing, and other quality control activities.
• Coordinate sample workloads, rush projects, due dates, and sample hold times to support timely reporting.
• Assist with quality assurance processes, laboratory accreditations, training documentation, and confirmation of laboratory results.
• Provide technical support to client services and coworkers while following laboratory policies, SOPs, and Lean initiatives.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience performing asbestos PLM and/or mold analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, geology, or a closely related science.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, databases, scientific practices, and laboratory organization.

Nice to have

• Eight units of microbiology coursework.
