Software Engineer in Test II (AI)

Location: Fully remote within Mexico, or hybrid 1–2 days per week at the Reforma-area office in Mexico City

What you will do

• Build and maintain evaluation suites for AI features, including regression baselines and end-to-end agent behavior testing.
• Test guardrails, human approval gates, adversarial inputs, prompt injection risks, and safe failure behavior.
• Design, execute, and maintain automated, manual, exploratory, functional, and regression testing across web and mobile applications.
• Perform API, integration, and performance testing to support platform reliability and scalability.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution while partnering with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success.
• Contribute to QA strategy and mentor teammates on testing standards, automation, and AI-powered engineering workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in QA, SDET, or software testing roles.
• Experience with LLM evaluation techniques, agentic systems, tool or function calling, multi-step workflows, and MCP or similar integrations.
• Strong understanding of API, integration, distributed systems, and performance testing.
• Experience building scalable automation frameworks for modern web applications using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Gherkin, with Python or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Git, Jenkins or similar platforms, and SQL or NoSQL databases.
• English proficiency is required, and candidates must have the legal right to work in Mexico without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring teammates or serving as a QA thought partner.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with AI-powered engineering tools such as Codex, Claude, Cursor, or similar technologies.
