Principal Quality Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in Brazil, Mexico, or Colombia; overlap hours with US-facing partners.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Own and communicate the company-wide quality engineering roadmap and accountability framework.
• Define test strategies across unit, component, contract, API, end-to-end, mobile, performance, load, accessibility, and visual regression testing.
• Develop AI-native quality tooling, including agentic test generation, code review, and quality guidance workflows.
• Own CI/CD quality gates, test infrastructure, performance budgets, and mobile automation across emulators and real-device clouds.
• Connect monitoring and incident response with production-quality dashboards and actionable signals.
• Mentor QA engineers across squads and provide technical input to their Engineering Managers.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience using AI to generate tests and building agentic workflows such as Claude Code or MCP-based tooling.
• Deep experience building and maintaining component, contract, API, end-to-end, and performance test suites.
• Practical experience creating CI pipelines, quality gates, test infrastructure, and automation tooling.
• Ability to design testing approaches appropriate to different team maturity levels without imposing arbitrary frameworks or coverage targets.
• Ability to coach engineers, run enablement sessions, and influence QA standards across teams without initial direct management responsibility.
• Hiring, coaching, and performance-management experience for QA or engineering teams is a plus as the role may grow into direct people management.
