QA Automation Engineer (Playwright)

Location: Remote from Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, or Colombia; working hours aligned with U.S. business hours

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and expand end-to-end automated testing with Playwright and TypeScript.
• Develop scalable automation frameworks for critical frontend and backend workflows.
• Improve regression coverage and write reliable, reusable automated tests.
• Identify flaky tests and improve test execution speed, framework stability, and automation environments.
• Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and maintain test environments and test data strategies.
• Partner with frontend and backend engineers on release planning, testing strategy, and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Hands-on Playwright experience; Cypress experience is acceptable with willingness to transition.
• Proven experience building and maintaining end-to-end automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of DOM interactions, asynchronous behavior, network requests, and debugging flaky tests.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; availability during U.S. business hours.

Nice to have

• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Knowledge of test data management strategies.
• Experience with B2B SaaS or multi-tenant applications, including role-based access and permissions testing.
• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools and workflows.
• Startup or product-led environment experience.
