Summer 2027 Internship - Electrical and Pulsed Power Engineering

Location: On-site in Denver, Colorado for the full 12-week internship

Salary: $25–$35 per hour, depending on education level

hirify.global develops laser-driven inertial fusion energy systems and hardware intended to support commercial fusion power plants and global decarbonization.

What you will do

• Support the design and development of fusion hardware and software.
• Work on electrical engineering and pulsed power systems.
• Contribute to control systems, systems engineering, computational engineering, and simulations.
• Apply mechanical, thermal, optical, nuclear, or plasma physics expertise depending on interests and experience.
• Support manufacturing engineering and hardware development activities.
• Work with an industry mentor on complex, real-world engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program at an accredited college or university in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or a related discipline.
• Have applied technical skills outside the classroom through projects, research, volunteering, internships, or work experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation.
• Have strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Be able to work full-time on-site in Denver throughout the 12-week program.
• Be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Experience or academic interest in pulsed power, fusion energy, control systems, simulations, optics, plasma physics, nuclear engineering, or manufacturing.
