Summer 2027 Internship - Manufacturing Engineering

Location: Full-time onsite work in San Leandro, Fremont, CA, or Los Lunas, NM. The internship requires a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning between mid-May and mid-June 2026.

Salary: $30–$48 USD.

What you will do

• Assist with implementing Manufacturing Execution Software (MES).
• Create, edit, and release work instructions with build technicians and manufacturing engineers.
• Capture technician redlines and coordinate recurring meetings to update work instructions.
• Assist with manufacturing tooling design and fabrication.
• Collect, consolidate, and analyze production data to identify trends and recommend actions.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field.
• Willingness to work directly with technicians and engineers to understand the build process.
• Strong listening, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to provide quick solutions as manufacturing issues arise.
• Available for full-time onsite work for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
• Access to certain information or technology may require U.S. Person status under U.S. export control laws, including ITAR or EAR.

Nice to have

• At least six months of internship, co-op, or academic project experience outside normal coursework.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Basic experience with CAD software, MATLAB, Python, or Excel.
• Experience with machining equipment, hand tools, power tools, or air tools.
• Exposure to MES and MRP systems and their use in improving production efficiency.
