Principal AI UX Lead

Location: Pleasanton, California, United States; hybrid Flex Work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: $246,000–$370,000 USD for the primary location; additional US locations: $206,000–$370,000 USD

What you will do

• Design and deliver conversational and agentic AI experiences for hirify.global agents.
• Connect agentic logic with intuitive interfaces and clear user workflows.
• Shape how users experience AI reasoning and translate AI capabilities into usable products.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, software engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and raise technical standards across the pod.

Requirements

• For the Principal level: 12+ years of software engineering experience, 7+ years with TypeScript/React or Python/FastAPI, 3+ years building conversational or agentic AI applications, and 5+ years leading projects or teams.
• For the Senior level: 8+ years of software engineering experience, 5+ years with TypeScript/React or Python/FastAPI, and 2+ years building conversational or agentic AI applications.
• Experience collaborating with product designers or a portfolio demonstrating strong UX/UI design principles.
• Experience building and operating SaaS products in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, plus familiarity with Elasticsearch and strong cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java for backend development and TypeScript for frontend or full-stack development.
• Experience working in fast-paced agile environments.
• Experience translating ambiguous, complex problems into clear solutions.
