Senior Engineer II - Validation (ASIC)

Location: Basking Ridge, New Jersey, United States. The role is performed inside, with 80% sitting, 10% standing, and 10% walking. Travel is expected at 0–25%.

Annual base salary: $70,304–$205,000, plus restricted stock units, quarterly bonuses, health benefits, retirement savings plans, and an employee stock purchase plan.

What you will do

• Plan, develop, code, and execute pre-silicon and post-silicon validation plans.
• Build validation infrastructure using embedded software, device drivers, and test tools in C, Python, and Tcl.
• Characterize NAND Flash memory across operating conditions and workloads, including performance, reliability, and endurance.
• Analyze large datasets and produce graphs, charts, technical reports, and visual summaries.
• Debug system-level and post-silicon issues across hardware platforms and operating systems.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to identify trends and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
• 7.5+ years of experience for Senior Engineer II; 5+ years may be considered for Senior Engineer I.
• Experience coding and debugging embedded firmware for NAND Flash validation.
• Strong knowledge of digital systems and computer architecture.
• Ability to develop functional validation plans and the software needed to execute them.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of PCI Express architecture and storage interfaces such as NVMe, SCSI, AHCI, SATA, or SAS.
• Experience developing Windows or Linux device drivers and using laboratory equipment such as protocol analyzers.
• Knowledge of machine learning and NAND Flash memory characterization.
• Understanding of Flash endurance, retention, read disturb, and performance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including charts, pivot tables, formulas, and automated reporting.
