Lead Commissioning Engineer (Substation)

Location: Hooksett, New Hampshire, United States. Hybrid schedule requires at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays; availability to work up to five days in the office may be required. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required.

Annual salary: $140,650–$156,280, plus potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans and procedures for complex transmission and distribution substation projects.
• Commission substation equipment, including breakers, transformers, controls, systems, relays, and metering.
• Coordinate with System Test, Protection and Controls Engineering, and other engineering groups to ensure safe, reliable project delivery.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for commissioning issues and system failures.
• Support operating areas during normal and emergency situations and contribute to long-term transmission and distribution life-cycle planning.
• Supervise, coach, develop, assign, and review the work of engineers and other staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least eight years of utility transmission or distribution engineering experience.
• Electrical engineering knowledge focused on substation project testing and commissioning.
• Valid Connecticut or Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Must be able to work in office and utility substation environments, travel between MA, CT, and NH, and respond to emergency storm assignments.
