Salary: $70,000–$156,600 per year. Level-specific ranges include $68,300–$86,500 for Entry, $79,800–$103,666 for Staff, $97,000–$129,267 for Senior, and $112,000–$156,600 for Principal.

What you will do

  • Lead engineering projects involving research, design, equipment selection, procurement, installation, testing, inspections, and commissioning.
  • Provide field engineering oversight and technical support for operations, maintenance, diagnostics, testing, and regulatory activities.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including designs, calculations, reports, standards, and test materials.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact during bids and proposal evaluations, prepare bid documents, and recommend equipment or vendor selections.
  • Resolve complex technical and business issues with internal teams, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate project budgets, estimates, forecasts, accounting, work orders, and assignments for engineers, technicians, craft personnel, and support staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum; mechanical engineering is preferred for Entry and Staff levels.
  • Relevant experience varies by level: 0+ years for Entry, 2+ years for Staff, 5+ years with EIT/FE or 7+ years without it for Senior, and 9+ years with PE or 15+ years without it for Principal.
  • EIT/FE is preferred for Entry, strongly preferred for Staff, and required for Senior candidates with five years of experience; PE registration is required for Principal candidates with nine years of experience.
  • Ability to apply engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to projects of moderate to large size and complexity.
  • Ability to work independently, coordinate multiple organizations, communicate precisely, and provide guidance to less experienced engineers and field personnel.
