Lead Engineer - Dan River CC / Rockingham CT - Electrical

Location: Onsite at a company facility in Eden, North Carolina; lawful authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment-based immigration sponsorship is required. Travel: 5–15%. Relocation assistance may be provided.

What you will do

• Serve as the Distributed Controls System and Electrical System owner for Dan River Combined Cycle and Rockingham Combustion Turbine facilities.
• Provide technical expertise and resolve complex electrical and controls engineering problems.
• Support station-managed capital and operations and maintenance projects, including project oversight and stakeholder coordination.
• Develop technical scopes, design bases, installation requirements, and testing requirements for electrical system changes.
• Maintain plant risk grids and respond to emergent technical requests.
• Manage control and electrical system vendor contracts, including on-call support, maintenance, and parts agreements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, a Professional Engineer registration, or a Master's degree in Engineering in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
• At least 8 years of related work experience.
• Professional Engineer registration is required.
• Knowledge of engineering theories, principles, research, design evaluation, recommendations, and project management.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with individuals from varied socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Must be able to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in the utility industry.
• Experience with Ovation, Mark VIE, or T3000 control systems.
• Combustion turbine and combined cycle experience.
• Department-specific engineering experience.
