Senior Software Engineering - Autonomy Build & Integration (Automotive)

Location: Remote anywhere in Canada; employees may also work from GM facilities in Markham or Oshawa as needed or desired. Travel may be required.

Salary: CAD 115,000–164,600 per year.

What you will do

• Create, maintain, and improve CI/CD processes for new and existing services.
• Build and operate CI, CD, build, release, artifact management, and validation workflows for autonomous driving and ADAS features.
• Own scalable, reliable technical projects and solutions involving real-time processing and high availability.
• Lead complex cross-team projects, participate in planning, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Drive software engineering best practices, develop supporting tools, and improve pipeline reliability, performance, observability, and compliance.
• Mentor engineers, conduct technical interviews, and contribute to recruiting activities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading large-scale, cross-team initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Buildkite, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Python, Docker, Bazel or CMake, and compilers such as Clang, GCC, or NVCC.
• Experience leading projects across multiple teams and understanding the operational impact of technology trade-offs.
• Must be based in Canada; GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of designing, building, and operating production systems at cloud scale.
• Knowledge of ADAS, motion control, automotive networks, powertrain, or Ethernet/CAN/LIN protocols.
• Experience with SAFe, Agile, QNX, QCC, Adaptive AUTOSAR, CppUTest, GoogleTest, or Jenkins plugins.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.
