Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom

Salary: £85,000–£105,000 annually for senior level; £60,000–£85,000 annually for mid level

What you will do

• Write reliable, well-tested software in Python and Terraform.
• Monitor, support, and improve production software across platform systems.
• Work on CI/CD, networking, data integration with on-premise plant systems, IoT operating system images, and customer-facing control software.
• Identify and drive architectural improvements across software and ML engineering.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and strengthen software engineering practices across the organisation.
• Improve the quality, maintainability, and reliability of existing systems.

Requirements

• Senior-level software engineering experience and the ability to take ownership of problems through production.
• Experience with testing, pairing, mobbing, iterative development, and pragmatic engineering trade-offs.
• Ability to work collaboratively across software, ML, and other disciplines.
• Comfort working with ambiguity, evolving requirements, unfamiliar technical systems, and existing codebases.
• Availability to work in a hybrid setup in the London office; the technical exercise takes place in the London office.

Nice to have

• Experience in control engineering, machine learning, or MLOps.
• Experience with AWS IoT, Greengrass, Mender, or device fleet management.
• Experience across AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Docker, functional programming languages, or complex AI-enabled workflows.
