Manager, Fire Protection Engineering

Location: San Diego, California, United States; hybrid or remote work arrangements will be considered, with proximity to the San Diego team preferred.

Salary: $127,000–$175,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Lead a team of up to eight engineers and project managers.
• Lead and contribute to fire protection engineering, building safety, and technical consulting projects.
• Build client relationships and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture and support employee engagement.
• Mentor employees across technical, project management, and client-facing skills.
• Partner with leadership on regional strategy, recruiting, retention, and service-line growth.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical consulting with a track record of developing client relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong foundation in fire protection engineering principles.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
• Ability to balance project management responsibilities with people leadership.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering (PE) license or similar credential.
