Asset Manager (Battery Storage)

Location: Remote-first in the United States, with work-from-home or hybrid options from offices in The Woodlands, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, Brooklyn, Denver, Palm Beach Gardens, and Birmingham. Requires travel to various locations within the United States approximately 20% of the time.

Salary: Expected range begins at $150,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Oversee day-to-day operations for a portfolio of utility-scale standalone battery energy storage systems.
• Monitor asset performance, analyze plant metrics and KPIs, identify anomalies, and recommend improvements.
• Manage O&M agreements and third-party contractors, including maintenance schedules, work quality, outages, and unplanned maintenance.
• Prepare operational budgets, reporting, qualitative analysis, and recommendations with Accounting and Analytics Services.
• Coordinate risk assessments, preventive and corrective actions, and compliance with NERC/ISO procedures and operating agreements.
• Support plant design reviews, EPC and development activities, and the handover of BESS projects from construction to operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of asset management experience in the renewable energy industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, business, or a related field.
• Experience in power, energy, renewables, or BESS, with familiarity with industry terminology.
• Working knowledge of ERCOT and other ISO/RTO market structures, merchant energy assets, regulatory requirements, and market participation.
• Ability to interpret PPAs, LGIAs, financing agreements, and other project contracts.
• Strong project management, communication, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Knowledge of BESS technology and SCADA systems.
