Senior Engineer - CBM & PM Coordinator (Utility Infrastructure)

Location: Hybrid role based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, United States

Salary: $103,200–$141,900 per year, plus a 15% annual bonus for eligible positions

What you will do

• Lead condition-based maintenance and program management for utility equipment, assets, and infrastructure.
• Plan, design, and execute complex engineering projects involving electric and gas distribution, transmission, substations, and related systems.
• Perform system performance analysis, outage investigations, field inspections, troubleshooting, and technical reviews.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, resource allocation, financial reporting, and program optimization.
• Develop engineering strategies for grid modernization and support safety, reliability, compliance, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Provide technical training, mentoring, peer review, and guidance to engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Professional Engineer license.
• At least 7 years of professional engineering experience, with extensive expertise in a specialized engineering area.
• Ability to analyze complex electrical and mechanical systems and apply advanced engineering principles to resolve difficult issues.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable standards, codes, methods, and practices.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, written communication, oral communication, presentation, report generation, and technical writing skills.
• Experience with utility infrastructure, project management tools, Python, PLS-CAD, Pole Foreman, Power BI, or similar tools.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree or graduate-level coursework in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management.
• Engineer-in-Training certification, Professional Engineer license, MBA, or Project Management certification.
• Participation in industry committees or working groups, or publication of technical documents.
• Experience in system analysis, planning, design coordination, standards development, or project execution.
