Pre-Construction Analyst (Solar-BESS)

Location: Hybrid role based in the San Francisco, Scottsdale, Denver, or San Diego office; onsite work and travel are required as needed.

Salary: $75,000–$120,000 USD annual base pay, plus eligibility for an annual cash bonus.

What you will do

• Review early designs, site conditions, feasibility, access, environmental constraints, interconnection requirements, and construction risks.
• Analyze development, procurement, construction, commissioning, and guaranteed milestone schedules, including Owner Furnished Equipment deliveries.
• Review project budgets, EPC costs, construction management costs, contingencies, pre-work agreements, invoices, and lien waivers.
• Review and negotiate EPC contract terms covering scope, deliverables, safety, quality assurance, payment applications, liquidated damages, and milestone guarantees.
• Coordinate utility interconnection, high-voltage scope, commissioning, energized testing, and performance testing requirements.
• Communicate project status, risks, labor requirements, and readiness milestones to development, engineering, procurement, construction, and leadership stakeholders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of experience with commercial or utility-scale solar energy or battery projects.
• Experience in renewable energy construction, engineering, project management, or with an EPC contractor, consulting firm, engineering firm, or owner/developer.
• Knowledge of solar and battery energy systems, development practices, construction processes, project management tools, and utility coordination.
• Strong risk analysis, organization, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to work onsite and travel as required; employment authorization sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
• Occupational health and safety certifications.
