Senior Expense Specialist (Travel & Expense)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 for other US locations; $150,000–$185,000 for premium locations including San Francisco, New York City, and Seattle. Equity offered.

What you will do

• Own the travel and expense audit process end to end and build a SOX-ready control environment.
• Administer and optimize the global T&E policy, ClickHouse Expense tool, corporate card program, and integrations with HRIS and ERP systems.
• Improve international reimbursement cycle time through automated routing, clear service levels, and self-service support.
• Serve as the primary contact for T&E questions, escalations, approval-flow issues, policy configuration, and offboarding coordination.
• Build spend dashboards, KPI tracking, and executive reporting from the ground up.
• Deliver role-based training, develop a global T&E champion network, and lead structured change management.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in travel and expense, accounts payable, or finance operations.
• Hands-on experience with Expensify, Ramp or a comparable expense and card platform, plus NetSuite integrations.
• Working knowledge of SOX controls and audit readiness for expense and card programs.
• Experience designing policy for global, multi-entity workforces that include FTE and EOR employees.
• Experience building reporting and KPI visibility from scratch.
• Experience running training and change management for process or tool rollouts.

Nice to have

• Experience in a high-growth or cloud software company.
• Experience building or maintaining automated fraud detection.
• Experience with ADKAR or a similar change management framework.
