Senior Revenue Accountant (SaaS)

Location: San Francisco, United States; office-centric hybrid schedule with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Work from home is generally available on Wednesdays, while Friday availability depends on the role and team.

Salary: $164,000–$186,000 estimated base salary annually, plus potential equity, sales incentive pay, and benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as a subject matter expert on revenue accounting, including contract reviews and non-standard sales arrangements.
• Lead monthly revenue close activities, variance analysis, reconciliations, and SOX controls.
• Own and maintain revenue recognition, gross-versus-net, contract combination, consideration payable, and AR reserve policies.
• Prepare quarterly and annual reporting requirements, footnote disclosures, internal controls, and audit coordination.
• Design scalable revenue accounting solutions for new products, consumption-based revenue, and reseller organizations.
• Partner with Business Technology, Engineering, Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, FP&A, Legal, Sales, and other stakeholders on system improvements and revenue recognition engine optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 7 years of experience, including experience with SaaS and service arrangements.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP revenue recognition, especially ASC 606 and consumption-based revenue recognition.
• Experience with NetSuite, Zuora, Roadrunner CPQ, and systems implementations.
• Experience with a Big Four or equivalent national accounting firm.
• Strong time management, project management, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
