Finance Manager (AI)

Location: San Mateo (Hybrid)

Compensation: $180,000 – $210,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the financial model for the GPU fleet, including capacity commitments, utilization, and cost-per-hour analysis.
• Serve as a finance partner to Engineering, Product, Security, and IT for headcount planning and operating budgets.
• Evaluate cloud and GPU provider contract structures to surface optimization opportunities.
• Forecast and explain compute, cloud, and R&D spend variances to leadership.
• Build reporting dashboards and processes to make compute and R&D economics legible.
• Contribute financial inputs to board materials and fundraising processes.

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or equivalent analytical roles.
• Expert financial modeling skills with the ability to build from scratch and stress-test assumptions.
• Strong interest in operations and understanding the technical systems behind financial data.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with shifting priorities.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in AI/ML, developer platforms, or cloud infrastructure finance.
• Exposure to data center or semiconductor economics.
• Working knowledge of GAAP treatment for infrastructure and capitalized software.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, BI tools, or NetSuite.
