Manager, Risk and Safety

Location: On-site at the main campus in Stephenville, Texas. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend support for university events and campus programming.

Salary: $53,745–$76,321 annual base salary, negotiable based on funding, experience, and skills.

What you will do

• Lead and continuously improve university-wide risk management, safety, compliance, and enterprise risk mitigation programs.
• Direct environmental health and safety programs covering hazardous waste, asbestos, lead-based paint, chemical safety, industrial hygiene, and indoor air quality.
• Oversee safety-related projects, regulatory audits, assessments, inspections, renovations, fire protection systems, and remediation activities.
• Maintain emergency operations and incident action plans while directing emergency preparedness, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
• Manage insurance strategy, procurement, claims administration, risk assessments, loss prevention, and mitigation recommendations.
• Supervise departmental personnel, allocate resources, evaluate performance, and represent the department on institutional committees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, business administration, public administration, emergency management, or a related field.
• At least five years of related experience in administration, program management, risk, compliance, or a related area.
• Ability to interpret and implement federal, state, Texas A&M University System, and university regulations.
• Ability to work on-site in Stephenville, Texas, with occasional evening and weekend availability.
• Ability to complete a criminal history investigation and credential verification.
