Project Manager 1 – Telecom (Fiber Optic)

Professional services firm providing engineering, surveying, environmental, and planning services, with a telecommunications team supporting fiber-optic infrastructure planning and design throughout the United States.

What you will do

• Manage fiber-optic and telecommunications design projects, including long-haul, middle-mile, FTTH, FTTx, cable landings, and ILA infrastructure.
• Coordinate OSP, GIS, surveying, civil engineering, and subconsultant teams.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, quality, deliverables, financials, forecasting, invoicing, and consultant costs.
• Maintain project documentation, status reports, permits, schedules, and design records.
• Identify project risks, develop solutions, and communicate with clients, consultants, project teams, and other stakeholders.
• Support business development through client relationships, proposals, estimates, pursuit activities, and team mentorship.

Requirements

• 6+ years of civil and/or telecommunications design experience, preferably with fiber-optic infrastructure.
• At least 1 year of project management experience; telecommunications experience is preferred.
• Experience with fiber design, OSP construction drawings, splicing plans, mapping, surveying, and utility design in public rights-of-way.
• Understanding of project budgets, financials, scheduling, and resource management.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities, and work independently and collaboratively.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, telecommunications, construction management, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain licensure.
• PMP certification.
