Project IT Manager (Telecommunications)

Location: St. Petersburg, Florida; hybrid with onsite work three days per week, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and occasional travel to project sites throughout Florida.

hirify.global is providing a project-based IT management opportunity supporting telecommunications and infrastructure initiatives.

What you will do

• Manage and coordinate approximately 60 concurrent telecommunications and infrastructure projects across generation, transmission, solar, facilities, real estate, and enterprise IT initiatives.
• Control project scope, schedules, milestones, budgets, forecasts, risks, dependencies, purchase requests, invoices, and cost variances.
• Maintain project documentation and updates in JIRA, including decisions, action items, risks, and follow-up activities.
• Coordinate engineering, telecommunications, field, implementation, product owner, and business stakeholders to deliver work within established timelines.
• Plan and document customer kickoffs, project-planning meetings, weekly status updates, field work, site visits, construction windows, outage windows, and technician activities.
• Identify delays and delivery risks early, remove obstacles, and escalate concerns to the appropriate stakeholders.

Requirements

• Substantial project management experience in infrastructure, utility, telecommunications, construction, facilities, generation, transmission, solar, renewable energy, or related projects.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, including scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, milestones, meetings, and action items.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, documentation, independent working, and follow-through skills.
• Experience coordinating field work, site visits, construction activities, outages, or technician assignments.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to travel occasionally within Florida, and ability to work onsite three days per week with Tuesday and Wednesday required onsite days.
• Ability to attend Tuesday morning staff meetings in St. Petersburg and perform field duties such as lifting, climbing ladders, and wearing required personal protective equipment.

Nice to have

• Project management experience in telecommunications or IT, particularly in utility, field, construction, or enterprise service-delivery environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, JIRA, Primavera P6, or Business Objects.
• Familiarity with switches, routers, Ciena, SEL ICON, Cambium, point-to-point microwave, DC power systems, and fiber-optic construction.
